LIBRARY IS CLOSED…UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE
From Interim Town Administrator Bob Markel:
The Hampden Emergency Management Team met on March 13 to take steps in response to the Coronavirus. Effective immediately, the Senior Center is closed, except for those who have appointments. The Hampden Public Library is also closed. The Superintendent of the Hampden-Wilbraham Regional School District has announced that the schools will be closed until May 4th.
Hampden Town Hall will be closed to the public as of March 16. Town offices have been sanitized and will be open, but only Town employees will be allowed into the building. Employees who enter the building must use hand sanitizer. The Board of Selectmen will continue to meet on Monday nights, but residents will not be able to attend. Instead, Selectmen’s meetings will be recorded, and residents can listen to the recordings which will be posted on the Town website. Town Boards and Committees are requested to meet only when necessary to conduct essential Town business.
Lastly, the Town is requesting residents to transact all Town business via telephone and email. Call (413) 566-2151.
